the week is done. no paint on the wainscot yet. it appears simple however the margins were highly critical. to create each panel there are 8 pieces of trim. over 150 bits of trim so over 300 individual trim cuts. that is the trim alone. the panels and grid add a considerable amount more. to make this project more difficult all cutting had to be done outside and downstairs. walking walking walking. a mantle to design next

been awhile. work progresses. weather improving. time to plant tomatoes. pull up wild onions. cut back the wisteria. paint the house. turn the compost. simple affairs of every day living. I'll get the finish pics of the columns when the mason is finished.

I was reluctant to get out today. went to sonny bryan's 100 year anniversary. what fun. live music out in the wet and still snow on the ground parking lot. didn't have my camera. shucks. still thawing out here. such snow I've only seen twice. car car did well. so I present this for your approval.

well, snow. we broke a record they say. 12.5 is the official total. its melting now and falling from the trees. big old globs hitting the roof. I'll uncover the car later to be ready for tomorrow. probably take 3 or 4 days to melt off. I think I got about 8 inches. it was melting through the day as it fell. maybe spring will come early.

happy 10 everyone! a sunny day here. I've already gotten to sling shot pecans at the grackles. pretty cold though. can't find my small Ipod speakers. bummer. they weren't costly. I resolve to not make a resolution. I bet I can keep that. I have a very uneventful day planned. so there is snow and smoking in my barrel. the turkey turned out good. a lot meat at .33cents a pound and a big ole pot of broth for my chili.
